SB 529 -- RAILROADS

SPONSOR:  Childers (Wallace)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Transportation and Motor Vehicles by a vote of 20 to 0.

Under this bill, any railroad which transverses state lines and
which is domiciled in Missouri may be designated by the Division
of Tourism as an official state railroad.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that any railroad of this type
promotes tourism to the region.

Testifying for the bill was Senator Childers.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
